Brianna and her tutor
In this Teacher´s Guide you will find information about how your school or children’s group can register and participate, as well as about the prizes and the Global Vote. You will also find tips regarding how you and your pupils can work with the material.
Aims of the World’s Children’s Prize
• To facilitate the humanitarian growth of each child into a global citizen, in a process based on the rights of the child, democracy and the environment, by:
• Empowering children and young people with knowledge and courage, and giving them a platform – in the family, at school, and in local, national, and global society – from which they can make their voices heard and demand change and respect for the rights of the child.
• Helping children and young people to increase their knowledge and awareness of the rights of the child, and grow as global friends, through meeting and reading about the prize candidates, the children they fight for, the jury children and other children.
• Helping children and young people to increase their knowledge of democracy by organising and taking part in the Global Vote.
• Making it possible for the world’s children and young people to award their prizes and honour those who have made outstanding contributions to the rights of the child.
